April Showers Bring Spring Flowers

Now is the time to order your spring and summer color. This year there are some great selections to choose from, including annuals and interesting ornamental grasses and plants. Let us add some of these to your landscape:

• Fireworks Grass – with vibrant red stripes and a height of 2 to 2 1/2 feet tall, it’s an excellent accent for annuals.
• Americana Geraniums – bright red big bloom clusters, they are also available in salmon.
• Zinnias – great for cutting, we have a new selection called Dreamland Mix in a multitude of colors.
• Others to try include tiny petunias called “Minifamous,” graceful Hamlin grass and Dwarf Cannas.

Lawn Care: ‘Tis the Season

• To promote good root development and growth, core aerate lawns in the spring
• Water your lawn a maximum of one inch per week, preferably in two applications of a half-inch each time. Overwatering can cause shallow roots and other problems.
