Quick Tips

Watering Restrictions Relaxed in Hall County

Effective immediately, you can now hand-water your landscape, as long as you follow the guidelines adapted by Hall County. Based on Gov. Sonny Perdue’s recommendations, here are the latest updates for Hall:

  • Odd-numbered addresses can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Evennumbered addresses can water on
  • Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, as long as the time restrictions are followed.
  • You can water for up to 10 weeks on the same odd-even schedule for newly installed landscapes, including the use of irrigation systems during this time.
  • Hand-watering is allowed for up to 25 minutes per day on an odd-even schedule between midnight and 10 a.m.
  • The best time to water is just before sunrise until about 10 a.m. because soil absorbs water more easily before the sun’s heat warms the ground; plant foliage has time to dry during the day, reducing the risk of disease and water evaporates more quickly with mid-day and afternoon watering.
  • Mulching is crucial to maintain your landscape. A layer two to three inches thick is ample to help conserve moisture in the soil, and wood bark or chipped mulch is more effective than pine straw. Ask us about installing new mulch.
